| Резюме≠ | The Glasgow Sleep Effort Scale (GSES) is a brief instrument designed to measure the degree of mental and behavioral effort exerted in attempting to fall asleep. Developed by Broomfield and Espie in 2005, the GSES captures a key cognitive-behavioral maintenance mechanism in insomnia: excessive effort to sleep, anxiety about sleep performance, and counterproductive behaviors (trying hard to fall asleep, monitoring sleep, checking the clock) that paradoxically perpetuate sleep difficulty. The GSES is increasingly recognized as an important outcome measure for cognitive-behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I). | The Sleep Condition Indicator (SCI) is an 8-item self-report scale designed to assess the severity of insomnia symptoms in adults in a manner closely aligned with DSM-5 diagnostic criteria for insomnia disorder. Developed by Espie and colleagues in 2014, it measures the core features of insomnia: difficulty initiating sleep, difficulty maintaining sleep, early morning awakening, daytime impairment, and associated distress. The SCI is increasingly used in clinical practice and research to screen for insomnia, monitor treatment response, and evaluate cognitive-behavioral therapy efficacy. |
