Conducting the study at multiple centers broadens the patient spectrum, tests generalizability across different laboratory conditions and patient populations, and produces more externally valid accuracy estimates than a single-center study. | A diagnostic accuracy study evaluates how well a new diagnostic test (or biomarker, imaging modality, clinical assessment) detects the presence or absence of disease compared to a reference standard (gold standard).
