Tóm tắtThe JAFAR is a parent-report instrument developed by Lovell et al. in 1989 to assess functional ability in children and adolescents with juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA). Measuring across multiple domains including lower extremity function, upper extremity function, and activities of daily living, the JAFAR quantifies the extent to which arthritis and its treatment affect the child's mobility, self-care, and participation in age-appropriate activities. It remains a standard functional outcome measure in pediatric rheumatology research and clinical practice. The Child Health Questionnaire is a generic, parent-reported instrument developed by Landgraf et al. in 1996 to measure health-related quality of life in children aged 5–18 years. Unlike disease-specific measures, the CHQ captures broad domains of physical, emotional, social, and school functioning, making it suitable for diverse pediatric populations with or without chronic conditions. The CHQ-50 is the most widely used parent-report form; shorter (CHQ-28) and comprehensive (CHQ-CF87 child + family) versions are also available. The PAQLQ is a 23-item self-report instrument developed by Juniper et al. in 1996 to measure quality of life in children aged 7–17 years with asthma. It assesses how asthma and its treatment affect daily functioning, emotions, and activity levels. The instrument has become the gold standard for evaluating asthma-specific health-related quality of life in pediatric populations.
