The method draws on Saussurean dyadic semiotics and Peircean triadic semiotics, extended by Roland Barthes's connotation and myth framework and by contemporary multimodal semiotic theory developed for screen-based media. | Semiotic analysis is a qualitative method for interpreting how signs — words, images, sounds, gestures, and objects — produce and communicate meaning within a cultural context.
