Developed by Castle and colleagues, the BIDQ focuses on the core diagnostic features of BDD: appearance concern, functional impairment, and repetitive behaviours. The EDE-Q is a 28-item self-report questionnaire derived from the gold-standard Eating Disorder Examination (EDE) interview. Developed by Fairburn and Beglin in 1993, it measures the cognitive, behavioural, and attitudinal features of eating disorders. It is widely used in both research and clinical screening because it captures the core psychopathology of eating disorders without requiring a trained interviewer.
