Chi-squared test

A statistical test that uses the chi-squared distribution to assess whether observed frequencies deviate from expected frequencies. Its two principal forms are: (1) goodness-of-fit test, assessing whether a sample matches a hypothesized distribution; and (2) test of independence, evaluating association between two categorical variables in a contingency table.
