Causal study

A study designed to establish whether changes in one variable cause changes in another. Randomized controlled experiments (RCTs) are the gold standard for causal inference; observational causal studies require rigorous control of confounding through methods such as instrumental variables, propensity score matching, or difference-in-differences.
