Border Gateway Protocol (BGP)
BGP är de facto-standard för routingprotokoll för sammankoppling av autonoma system (AS) på internet. Sedan introduktionen 1989 har BGP skalat internet till miljontals routrar och biljoner destinationer. BGP är sökvägsvektorbaserat och använder ett flexibelt policysystem för att kontrollera ruttpropagering och val. Även om BGP-konvergens kan vara långsam och policys komplexa, förblir det det enda gångbara protokollet för interdomänrouting i internetskala.
