Pilot theoretical sampling — Preliminär framväxande sampling inom kvalitativ forskning
Pilot teoretisk sampling tillämpar logiken för teoretisk sampling — att välja deltagare baserat på framväxande koncept och teori — inom en avsiktlig pilot- eller preliminär fas av en studie. Istället för att omedelbart binda sig till en fullständig samplingsstrategi, genomför forskaren en liten initial omgång av datainsamling och analys för att testa om teoretisk sampling är genomförbar, för att förfina de sensitiserande koncept som styr deltagarurvalet, och för att identifiera om fältet är produktivt innan datainsamling i full skala påbörjas.
