Online enkel slumpmässig urval tillämpar logiken för klassiskt enkel slumpmässig urval (SRS) på digital datainsamling: varje medlem av en definierad onlinepopulation har en lika och oberoende sannolikhet att bli vald, och undersökningen administreras via en webbplattform, e-postlänk eller onlinepanel. Metoden kombinerar den statistiska stringensen hos sannolikhetssampling med snabbheten och kostnadsfördelarna med internetbaserad enkätleverans.
