Bassängsundersänkning analys
Bassängsundersänkning analys är den kvantitativa studien av hur sedimentära bassänger fördjupas över geologisk tid, driven av tektonik, isostasi och belastning. Metoden, som formaliserades av McKenzie (1978) och Sclater och Christie (1980), avslöjar de mekaniska orsakerna till bassängutveckling, förutsäger temperatur- och tryckhistorik i underjorden och begränsar petroleumgenerering. Analysen integrerar stratigrafi från borrhål, seismisk geometri, gravitationsdata och termiska modeller för att rekonstruera bassängens utveckling.
