The Vertigo Symptom Scale (VSS) is a self-report questionnaire assessing the frequency and severity of vertigo and associated symptoms (nausea, lightheadedness, visual disturbance, head motion intolerance). Developed by Yardley et al. in 1992, the VSS measures symptom burden rather than handicap, making it distinct from disability-focused measures.
