Analiza e evolucionit tematik është një teknikë bibliometrike që ndan një trup letërsie në periudha kohore të njëpasnjëshme dhe gjurmon se si temat kërkimore shfaqen, konsolidohen, ndahen, bashkohen ose zhduken në ato periudha. Duke kombinuar analizën e bashkë-fjalëve, grupimin dhe diagramet strategjike për çdo ndarje kohore, ajo prodhon një pamje dinamike të zhvillimit intelektual të një fushe, në vend të një pamjeje statike.
