Përditësimi dhe Kalibrimi i Modelit të Elementëve të Fundëm
Përditësimi i Modelit të Elementëve të Fundëm (FEM) është procesi i rafinimit të një modeli numerik strukturor për t'iu përshtatur sjelljes së matur (vrore modale, dridhje, zhvendosje statike) nga struktura fizike. Duke krahasuar parashikimet kompjuterike me të dhënat eksperimentale dhe duke rregulluar sistematikisht parametrat e pasigurt të modelit (vetitë e materialeve, kushtet kufitare, ngurtësia e nyjeve), inxhinierët krijojnë modele më të sakta për vendimmarrje në projektim, zbulim dëmesh dhe parashikim jetëgjatësie. Formalizuar nga Mottershead dhe Friswell, përditësimi FEM mbush boshin midis modeleve kompjuterike idealizuara dhe strukturave reale.
