Analiza e besueshmërisë politomike vlerëson konsistencën e brendshme ose saktësinë e matjes për shkallët e përbëra nga artikuj me më shumë se dy kategori përgjigjeje të renditura, siç janë artikujt tip Likert, vlerësues, ose me kredi të pjesshme. Ajo korrigjon një paragjykim të njohur të nënvlerësimit në alfa-n e zakonshëm të Kronbahut duke punuar me korrelacione politokorike ose indekse saktësie të bazuar në IRT.
