Validiteti i konstruktit longitudinal vlerëson nëse një shkallë psikologjike mat të njëjtin konstrukt latent në të njëjtën mënyrë në pika të shumta kohore. Ai testohet duke kufizuar progresivisht një model faktorial konfirmues përgjatë valëve dhe duke krahasuar përshtatjen e modelit, duke siguruar që rezultatet e ndryshimit të vëzhguar pasqyrojnë ndryshimin e vërtetë në tiparin themelor dhe jo zhvendosjen e matjes.
