Segmentimi i dobët i instancave trajnon rrjete të thella për të përcaktuar instancat individuale të objekteve në nivel pikseli duke përdorur vetëm anotime të lira, të paplota – të tilla si kutitë kufizuese, etiketimet në nivel imazhi, ose klikimet e pikave – në vend të maskave të plota me pixel. Kjo zvogëlon në mënyrë dramatike përpjekjen e anotimit, duke prodhuar ende maska në nivel instance për çdo objekt në një imazh.
