Klasifikimi i imazheve me mbikëqyrje të dobët trajnon rrjete konvolucionale ose të bazuara në transformatorë duke përdorur vetëm mbikëqyrje të përafërt, të paplotë ose të zhurmshme — si etiketat e kategorive në nivel imazhi, hashtagët, ose etiketat e marra nga uebi — pa kërkuar kuti kufizuese të sakta ose shënime pikselësh. Kjo redukton ndjeshëm koston e etiketimit duke mundësuar ende njohjen vizuale me saktësi të lartë në shkallë të gjerë.
