Vlerësimi i Politikave DiD aplikon estimatorin diferenca-në-diferenca specifikisht për të vlerësuar ndikimin shkakor të programeve qeveritare, rregulloreve ose reformave të politikave. Ai krahason ndryshimet në rezultate në një grup të ekspozuar ndaj politikës kundrejt një grupi të krahasueshëm të patrajtuar, para dhe pas hyrjes në fuqi të politikës, duke izoluar efektin neto të politikës nga tendencat ekzistuese dhe goditjet e përbashkëta kohore.
