PodsumowanieThe Method of Moments (MoM) is a powerful numerical technique for solving electromagnetic boundary integral equations derived from Maxwell equations. Pioneered by Roger Harrington in 1968, MoM discretizes only radiating surfaces and boundaries (antennas, conductors, dielectrics), not the surrounding space, making it efficient for radiation and scattering problems. MoM remains the standard tool for antenna design, electromagnetic compatibility analysis, and RF/microwave engineering. The Finite Integration Technique (FIT) is a numerical method for solving Maxwell equations on structured grids, formulating electromagnetics as a system of integral equations over grid cells. Introduced by Thomas Weiland in 1977, FIT bridges finite differences and finite elements, offering excellent accuracy, stability, and computational efficiency for a wide range of electromagnetic problems. FIT is the foundation of commercial solvers like CST Microwave Studio and is widely used in RF, microwave, and EMC engineering.
