Digital Metaphor Analysis
Digital Metaphor Analysis (DMA) is een kwalitatieve onderzoeksaanpak die conceptuele metaforen identificeert, in kaart brengt en interpreteert die ingebed zijn in digitale teksten — socialemediaposts, online forums, blogs, commentaarsecties en andere internet-gemiddelde communicatie. Voortbouwend op Conceptual Metaphor Theory (Lakoff en Johnson 1980), onderzoekt het hoe gebruikers abstracte ideeën (identiteit, politiek, gezondheid, crisis) framen door middel van systematische metaforische mappings, waarbij gedeelde conceptuele structuren en ideologische oriëntaties binnen online discoursgemeenschappen worden onthuld.
