Gematudeerde diagnostische nauwkeurigheidsstudie
Een gematudeerde diagnostische nauwkeurigheidsstudie evalueert hoe goed een index-test de doelconditie correct identificeert bij studiedeelnemers die zijn gematcht op belangrijke kenmerken — zoals leeftijd, geslacht of ziektestadium — om voor confounders te corrigeren. Door zieke en niet-zieke subjecten te koppelen op relevante factoren alvorens de test toe te dienen, isoleert het ontwerp de discriminerende prestaties van de test zelf van variatie die toe te schrijven is aan ongebalanceerde covariaten, wat zuiverdere schattingen oplevert van sensitiviteit, specificiteit en gerelateerde nauwkeurigheidsmaten.
