| Samenvatting≠ | Multiscale Geographically Weighted Regression, introduced by Fotheringham, Yang and Kang in 2017, is a spatial regression model that lets each coefficient vary across space at its own spatial scale. It generalises Geographically Weighted Regression by giving every predictor its own bandwidth, so some relationships can act locally while others act almost globally. | Geographically Weighted Regression is a local regression method, introduced by Fotheringham, Brunsdon and Charlton (2002), that allows the regression coefficients to vary across space. Instead of one global equation, it fits a separate set of coefficients at every location, capturing spatial heterogeneity in the relationships. |
