Analisis sentimen berasaskan leksikon mengira sentimen pada peringkat perkataan menggunakan kamus sentimen prabina seperti AFINN (Nielsen, 2011), SentiWordNet, VADER (Hutto & Gilbert, 2014), dan NRC Emotion Lexicon. Ia menilai teks dengan mencari perkataan dalam kamus istilah bermuatan, jadi ia tidak memerlukan data latihan berlabel.
