Border Gateway Protocol (BGP)

BGP ialah protokol penghalaan piawai de facto untuk menghubungkan sistem autonomi (AS) dalam Internet. Sejak diperkenalkan pada tahun 1989, BGP telah meningkatkan skala Internet kepada berjuta-juta penghala dan trilion destinasi. BGP adalah berasaskan vektor laluan, menggunakan sistem dasar yang fleksibel untuk mengawal penyebaran dan pemilihan laluan. Walaupun penumpuan BGP boleh menjadi perlahan dan dasarnya kompleks, ia kekal sebagai satu-satunya protokol yang berdaya maju untuk penghalaan antara domain berskala Internet.
