Inversi Gofizik
Inversi geofizik ialah proses menggunakan data geofizik yang diperhatikan untuk menganggarkan sifat dan struktur bawah permukaan. Diformalkan oleh Tikhonov (1963) dan diperluas oleh Tarantola (1987), rangka kerja matematik ini menyelesaikan masalah songsang: diberi ukuran (graviti, magnetik, seismik, elektrik), model bawah permukaan manakah yang menghasilkannya? Inversi adalah pusat kepada semua geofizik kuantitatif dan membolehkan pengekstrakan maklumat bawah permukaan terperinci daripada ukuran permukaan atau lubang gerudi.
