Segmentasi instans berpenyeliaan lemah melatih jaringan dalam untuk menggambarkan instans objek individual pada tingkat piksel hanya menggunakan anotasi yang murah dan tidak lengkap — seperti kotak pembatas, label tingkat gambar, atau klik titik — daripada masker piksel penuh yang mahal. Ini secara dramatis mengurangi upaya anotasi sambil tetap menghasilkan masker tingkat instans untuk setiap objek dalam gambar.
