Model Lokasi-Alokasi
Model lokasi-alokasi memutuskan di mana menempatkan sejumlah fasilitas dan secara bersamaan menetapkan titik permintaan ke fasilitas tersebut untuk mengoptimalkan tujuan seperti total biaya perjalanan, jarak kasus terburuk, atau populasi yang dicakup. Berakar pada karya riset operasi Cooper (1963) dan Hakimi (1964) serta pusat dari GIS jaringan, model ini menjawab pertanyaan seperti di mana menempatkan gudang, rumah sakit, stasiun pemadam kebakaran, atau sekolah untuk melayani populasi yang tersebar secara spasial dengan baik.
