Specific Excess Power
Specific excess power (Ps) adalah sebuah metrik yang mengukur laju perubahan energi per satuan berat, yang merepresentasikan seberapa cepat sebuah pesawat dapat menukar kecepatan dengan ketinggian (atau sebaliknya) pada kondisi penerbangan tertentu. Dikembangkan oleh John Boyd pada tahun 1970-an sebagai bagian dari teori energi manuverabilitas, Ps sangat penting untuk menilai kinerja pesawat selama manuver tempur, pendakian, dan akselerasi. Specific excess power banyak digunakan dalam desain pesawat militer, analisis amplop penerbangan, dan penilaian pertempuran udara taktis.
