SERS
ספקטרוסקופיית ראמאן מוגברת-שטח (SERS) מגבירה אותות ראמאן חלשים בסדרי גודל רבים כאשר מולקולות אנליט נספחות על משטחי מתכת מיוחדים (בדרך כלל כסף או זהב) בעלי מבנה ננו. SERS, שהתגלה על ידי פליישמן, הנדרה ומקוויליאן בשנת 1974, מאפשר זיהוי של חתימות ויברציוניות של מולקולות בודדות ומזהמים אולטרה-עקבות, וחולל מהפכה בכימיה אנליטית ובזיהוי פלילי.
