EXAFS
EXAFS (Extended X-ray Absorption Fine Structure) היא טכניקת ספקטרוסקופיית קרני רנטגן מבוססת סינכרוטרון, המודדת את המבנה הגיאומטרי והאלקטרוני המקומי סביב אטום ספציפי בכל חומר, גבישי או אמורפי. EXAFS, שהתגלה על ידי סיירס, שטרן ולייטל בשנת 1971, חושף מרחקים בין-אטומיים, מספרי קואורדינציה ואי-סדר בסביבה האטומית על ידי ניתוח תנודות בספקטרום בליעת קרני הרנטגן מעל קצה בליעה.
