מחקר בדיקת מודלים — תכנון לבדיקת תיאוריות מבניות
מחקר בדיקת מודלים הוא עיצוב כמותי מאשר (confirmatory) שבו החוקר מגדיר מודל תיאורטי — המתאר קשרים משוערים בין קונסטרוקטים — ואז בודק עד כמה המודל הזה מתאים לנתונים אמפיריים. בהסתמך בעיקר על מודלים של משוואות מבניות (structural equation modeling, SEM) וניתוח גורמים מאשר (confirmatory factor analysis, CFA), הוא מעריך האם מבנה השונות המשותפת (covariance) הנגזר מהנתונים עולה בקנה אחד עם המבנה הנגזר תיאורטית, ומספק מדדי התאמה (fit indices) המצביעים על התאמה בין המודל לנתונים.
