בסיסיות סיגים

בסיסיות סיגים היא מדד להרכב הסיגים הנוצרים במהלך פעולות התכה וקלייה. היא מבוטאת בדרך כלל כיחס בין תחמוצות בסיסיות (CaO, MgO) לבין תחמוצות חומציות (SiO2). הבסיסיות שולטת על נזילות הסיגים, צמיגותם וריאקטיביותם, ומשפיעה ישירות על התאוששות מתכת, טמפרטורת עיבוד ואיכות המוצר. זהו פרמטר קריטי בהתכת נחושת, ניקל ועופרת.
