תכנון קווי בסיס מרובים אדפטיבי הוא תכנון ניסויי של מקרה יחיד המיישם את ההיגיון הסטנדרטי של קווי בסיס מרובים — דחיית התחלת ההתערבות על פני שניים או יותר רבדים (התנהגויות, הגדרות או משתתפים) — אך מאפשר להחלטות שינוי פאזה להיות מונחות על ידי סקירת נתונים שוטפת ולא על ידי לוחות זמנים קבועים ומוגדרים מראש. גמישות זו הופכת את התכנון לרגיש יותר לשונות המשתתפים תוך שמירה על היגיון השכפול הליבה התומך בהסקה סיבתית.
