דיווח מקרה תואם הוא תיאור מובנה של מקרה קליני, שבו מושווה המטופל המרכזי (index patient) למטופל אחד או יותר שנבחרו באופן שיטתי כמשווים תואמים (matched comparators) — בדרך כלל מטופלים עם מאפיינים דמוגרפיים, מחלות רקע (comorbidities) או הקשרים קליניים דומים, שלא חוו את התוצאה החריגה.
