Galerkin-menetelmä
Galerkin-menetelmä on projektiopohjainen variationaalinen tekniikka differentiaaliyhtälöiden ratkaisemiseksi vähentämällä ääretönulotteiset ongelmat äärellisulotteisiksi lineaarisiksi systeemeiksi. Boris Galerkin kehitti sen vuonna 1915 ja Ivan Bubnoff itsenäisesti; se muodostaa perustan elementtimenetelmälle (FEM) ja on modernin laskennallisen tekniikan kulmakivi.
