The method bridges the participatory strengths of photo-elicitation with the sign-system rigour of semiotics, making it especially productive in cultural, media, and social identity research. | Semiotic analysis is a qualitative method for interpreting how signs — words, images, sounds, gestures, and objects — produce and communicate meaning within a cultural context.
