Drifter data complement Eulerian (fixed-point) observations by capturing the Lagrangian perspective of fluid motion. | The Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP) is an instrument that uses Doppler-shifted acoustic backscatter to measure water velocity profiles along a vertical profile.
