ResumenDigital case study research applies the classic bounded case study framework to phenomena that are situated in, or mediated by, digital environments. Drawing on Robert Yin's foundational case study methodology, it investigates a contemporary phenomenon in depth within its real-world digital context — using online documents, social media archives, virtual interviews, website content, and other digital artifacts as primary evidence. The approach is particularly suited to studying how individuals, groups, or organisations behave in online spaces.Ethnography is a qualitative research tradition in which a researcher immerses themselves in a social group or community over an extended period — typically three to six months or longer — to study its culture, values, and behaviours in their natural setting. Originating in social and cultural anthropology, and consolidated as a rigorous method by Bronisław Malinowski in the early twentieth century, ethnography produces rich, contextualised accounts of how people live, work, and make meaning together.
