ResumenBreakdown point analysis quantifies the fraction of outliers an estimator can tolerate before it produces meaningless results. Formalised by Hampel (1971) and Donoho and Huber (1983), it is the standard tool for comparing the robustness of competing estimators.Bootstrap inference, introduced by Bradley Efron in 1979, estimates the sampling distribution of a statistic by repeatedly resampling the observed data with replacement. It requires no distributional assumption and produces reliable confidence intervals even in small samples.
