Percentile

The value below which a given percentage of observations in a dataset falls. The pth percentile is the value Pₚ such that p% of the data lie at or below it. The median corresponds to the 50th percentile. Percentiles are widely used to describe distributions, set reference ranges in clinical medicine, and compare groups.
