Frequentist inference

The statistical inference paradigm that interprets probability as the long-run relative frequency of outcomes in repeated experiments. Parameters are treated as fixed but unknown quantities; hypothesis testing, confidence intervals, and maximum likelihood estimation are its principal tools.
