Conjugate prior

A prior distribution that, when combined with a given likelihood function, yields a posterior distribution belonging to the same parametric family. For example, the Beta distribution is conjugate to the Binomial likelihood. Conjugacy enables closed-form Bayesian updating, greatly simplifying posterior computation.
