The Patient-Specific Functional Scale (PSFS) is a unique, individualized outcome instrument that captures patient-identified functional limitations and tracks change in those specific activities. Developed by Stratford and colleagues in 1995 and published in Physiotherapy Canada, the PSFS revolutionized patient-centered assessment by allowing each patient to identify and rate the three to five activities most important to them, rather than answering predetermined questions.
