Tight-Binding Model

Tight-Binding (TB) modellen er en simplificeret semi-empirisk tilgang til beregning af elektroniske båndstrukturer og egenskaber for faste stoffer. Formuleret af Slater og Koster i 1954, behandler TB elektrontransport mellem atomare sites som den dominerende interaktion, hvilket muliggør effektive beregninger af bånddispersion for en bred vifte af materialer.
