Straussian Grounded Theory er en systematisk kvalitativ metode udviklet af Anselm Strauss og Juliet Corbin, der induktivt genererer teori ud fra data gennem strukturerede kodningsprocedurer. I modsætning til eksplorativ beskrivelse sigter den mod at producere en substantiel teori på mellemniveau, der forklarer, hvordan en social proces udfolder sig, og grundfæster ethvert teoretisk udsagn direkte i empiriske beviser indsamlet fra deltagere, der har oplevet fænomenet under undersøgelse.
