Komparativ institutionel etnografi — Multi-site IE

Komparativ institutionel etnografi (CIE) udvider Dorothy Smiths institutionelle etnografi til to eller flere institutionelle rammer og afslører, hvordan tekster, styringsrelationer og koordinerede arbejdspraksisser fungerer på tværs af forskellige organisatoriske kontekster. Ved at holde arbejdernes eller klienternes synsvinkel konstant, mens den institutionelle ramme varieres, blotlægger CIE både de fælles ideologiske mekanismer og de lokale afvigelser, der former den daglige erfaring inden for institutioner som hospitaler, skoler, velfærdsagenturer eller domstole.
