Shrinking Core Model

Shrinking Core Model, formaliseret af Szekely, Evans og Sohn i 1976, beskriver kinetikken af kemiske reaktioner mellem faste malmpartikler og omgivende væsker (udludningsopløsninger, røgninggasser). Efterhånden som reaktionen skrider frem fra partikeloverfladen indad, svinder en ureageret kerne, mens produkter akkumuleres i et produktlag. Modellen muliggør forudsigelse af udludningstider og optimering af hydrometallurgiske processer.
