McCabe-Thiele-metoden

McCabe-Thiele-metoden, introduceret af Warren L. McCabe og Ernest W. Thiele i 1925, er en grafisk teknik til design og analyse af destillationskolonner. Den forudsiger antallet af teoretiske trin (stadier), der er nødvendige for at opnå en ønsket separation mellem lette og tunge komponenter. Selvom den primært er et kemiteknisk værktøj, anvendes den til væske-damp-separationsproblemer i minedrift, såsom kviksølvgenvinding og raffinering af sjældne jordarter.
