Multimodale sætningsindlejringer afbilder tekst og billeder (og sommetider lyd eller video) ind i et delt kontinuerligt vektorrum, således at semantisk relaterede par fra forskellige modaliteter lander tæt på hinanden. Trænet med kontrastive mål på store parrede korpora, driver disse repræsentationer krydsmodal genfinding, nul-skuds klassifikation og vision-sprog ræsonnement.
